Small agricultural equipment were distributed among 150 tribal farmers by Birsa Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture University (BAU) at freedom fighter Telanga Khadias village – Murgu, district- Gumla of Jharkhand, with the aim of social and economic upliftment of farmers of villages of Jharkhand martyrs and heroes.

Jharkhand plans unique IDs to weed out ghost farmers

The state Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture department has decided to provide a unique identification (UID) number to every farmer to ensure seamless transfer of benefits under agri-related schemes. But for the time being, the department has begun allotting seed tokens tofarmers. The tokens carry details of seeds distributed, land available with the farmer and his/her Aadhaar and mobile number, among others. In the coming months, the department will provide every farmer a digitised chip-based card along with their unique ID number that will carry all relevant information pertaining to the transactions between them and the government.

For the first time,Jharkhandbegan distribution of kharif seeds from May 12 this year, weeks ahead of the monsoon. Oraon said they had placed orders for 43,483 quintals of seed and 18,000 quintals of seed have already been distributed. The department was awaiting a detailed report on crop losses due to cyclone Yaas.

Govt readies to protect environment through 75 actions

Save Energy 2. Save Water 3. Say no to single plastic 4. Adopt Sustainable Food System 5. Reduce Waste 6. Adopt Healthy LifeStyles 7. Reduce E-Waste through 75 actions in May-June, 2023.

In order to make this programme successful on Thursday, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Dan Bal Chief, Jharkhand, Ranchi, Dr Sanjay Shrivastavas instructed all the forest officials of the State through video conferencing to make this mission life successful. In mission life, every person and community will try to protect the environment and reduce the ill effects of climate change as much as possible by making efficient use of electricity and water and proper execution of Erwaste etc. For this, the department will work to spread awareness among government departments, educational institutions, offices and general public at every level through Nukkad Natak rally, public meeting, a total of 75 such approved actions. For this, efforts have to be made by all Protected Areas, biological parks and other institutions and departments.

Health Dept comes up with plan to maintain buildings

The State Health Department has come up with a resolution for maintenance, monitoring, operation, management and repairing of various buildings across the State. The step will enable the department to ensure annual and periodical maintenance of buildings including medical colleges and hospitals, sadar hospitals, regional health centres, sub divisional centres, CHCs, PHCs and others.

According to the resolution the buildings have been divided in three categories A, B and C. The concerned Civil Surgeon will undertake maintenance and operation of buildings under him/her through or local arrangement. Even the colours of buildings of different categories have been decided.

The Civil Surgeon of a particular district has been entrusted will responsibility to ensure repair and maintenance of buildings belonging to all three categories in every five depending upon the status of such buildings with the funds provided by the department.

Also, the land under different health centres and establishment of each district will be registered in the district land assets register and will be updated every year. The concerned Civil Surgeon has been given responsibility for the same.

The department has also set up a maximum funds limit for various categories of buildings to be repaired/maintained annually and periodically (5 years).

Underground ‘palace’ of Naga kingdom excavated in Jharkhand, could yield many secrets

A multi-storeyed underground palace, of immense historical importance, has been found during excavations by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at Navratangarh in Gumla district in Jharkhand.

The structure is believed to be around five and a half centuries old and date to the Naga or Nagavanshi dynasty.

The excavations being carried out by the ASI in and around the palace have yielded many important ancient remains. The department will carry out further studies to unravel the mysteries behind it.

Navratnagarh was declared as a heritage site in 2009 for conservation.

Durjan Sal ruled the kingdom for the longest. According to the evidence found so far, he had built the fort here in 1571. It is said that this fort was of 9 storeys, so it was given the name of Navratangarh. The ruins of this fort have been there for years and have been an object of curiosity for local tourists, as well as archaeologists and historians.

After the excavations started this month, for the first time, it was known that the king had built a grand underground palace as well. The legend is that the king built the palace to protect against any attack by the Mughal rulers. A secret tunnel passage has also been found in this underground palace, whose excavation is still going on.

On the basis of the structure, it is being speculated that there must have been a secret place to house his treasure of diamonds and other jewels.

Jharkhand demands extension in GST compensation period

The Government of Jharkhand has demanded extension in Goods and Services Tax (GST) compensation period by five years and at the same time to clear the States outstanding dues of Rs 1.36 lakh crore with the Central Governments coal companies mainly subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL) largely against non-payment of land compensation.

The Minister also requested the Centre Government to provide an airport at Sahibganj where a multi-modal inland riverine port is being developed, besides reducing the contribution of the from 50:50 to 50:20 in construction of rail over bridges as the cost of the land is pay by the State Government. He said that in order to provide some relief to the farmers of the State, the Jharkhand Government also requested the Centre Government to process the request of the State Government to declare 226 Administrative Blocks as drought prone.

In Jharkhand, OBCs are roughly 46% of the Population while STs form about 26% as per the 2011 census. Oraon conceded that OBCs are a larger chunk in the state while the population of STs has dwindled because of unchecked Migration and faulty census patterns.

Edu dept plans health cards for students and teachers

Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts(ABHA) would be provided to students in government and non-government schools, as well as teachers and employees of educational institutions across the state. The school Education and Literacy department has given directions to all the districts in this regard.

According to the instructions, all health facilities and health-related reports of the students, teachers and employees of the government and non-government entities would be connected online and will benefit them through the ABHA card.

The letter stated, All state’s health care facilities would be added online and all residents of the state would have access to the benefits of the card. For this, it is required for all citizens to hold ABHA ID.
