Plastic, thermocol to be banned from July 1: PCB

Thermocol and plastic related items will be banned from July 1. The State Pollution Control Board ordered this and said that action will be taken for violating the rules.

The board has already given instructions to the state for this and restrictions will also be imposed in Jharkhand. The State Pollution Control Board Chairman, AK Rastogi gave this information during a meeting with representatives of the apex traders body of the State Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) on Wednesday.

This decision will heavily affect the common man because plastic and thermocol has become an integral part of every bodys life. Preventing complete use of these items will not be easy. Thermocol plates are most common in current time because mostly the street food vendors use it and they will get highly affected by it. It may be mentioned here that both the items banned by the Board are very harmful because the takes a very long time to get destroyed.

In the course of the talks, Rastogi also said that it is mandatory for all categories of hotels to obtain Consent to operate from the Pollution Control Board within two months, otherwise, action will be taken against the hotel operators. This provision also applies to all clubs and banquet halls, convention centres, hospitals and educational institutions where the waste water of the above capacity is generated, he added.

Cabinet nod to financial assistance to unemployed youth, students

The State Cabinet with an aim to provide financial assistance to poor students and youth looking for skills upgradation, approved four ambitious programmes. The schemes will be launched during the Statehood function (November 15) by President Droupadi Murmu during her visit to the State.

The programme has been prepared aiming such students so that they do not face financial constraints in paying coaching fees for competitions for colleges and jobs, and also in paying tuition fees once admitted.

A Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren here on Thursday, in which a total of 34 proposals were passed. In the meeting, four schemes including Chief Minister Sarthi Yojana were approved.

Under the Chief Minister Sarathi Yojana, the government will provide financial assistance to the youth, who have received training. If these youths have not got EMPLOYMENT, then now the government will give them an allowance of Rs 1000 per month. At the same time, the government has announced this amount of Rs 1500 per month for Women and disabled.

Similarly, Mukhyamantri Shiksha Protsahan Yojana provides for free coaching at select coaching institutes in the state for various competitions namely engineering, medical, law, mass Communication, fashion designing, hotel management and chartered accountancy.

Jharkhand govt introduces universal pension scheme

A month ahead of the second anniversary ofJMM-Congress-RJD , the state cabinet on Friday decided to introduce universal pensionschemeby bringing in necessary amendments to pension rules on the recomendation of the Women, child development and social security department.

After the amendments, pension will be available universally to all eligible people with two exclusion categories. A person of 60 years of age, any specially-abled person or widow above the age of 18 years and those entitled to pension under any other category will now be excluded only if the beneficiary or an immediate family member is an Income tax payee or if the beneficiary or family member is a permanent employee of the state, Centre or public-sector undertaking.

The amendments have been introduced in centrally sponsored pension schemes under the National Social Assistance Programme and social security pension schemes operated under the state plan.

The 11-member cabinet also approved a new Mukhyamantri Swasthya Sahayata Yojana. The scheme will provide one-time financial grant to people from SC, ST and OBC communities if they lose their capabilities to earn their livelihood due to ailments. Senior citizens will get one-time benefit up to Rs 10,000 while those below 60 years will get benefits up to Rs 5,000.

The cabinet also gave its approval to the state department of school Education and literacys proposal to provide free textbooks to students of class 9 and 10 in all government schools. It also approved a proposal to provide bicycles to all government school students. Earlier, the Money for cycles were provided to schoolchildren through direct-benefit transfers.

Govt to link 25.50 lakh farmers with KCC by March 2023

Under the visionary Leadership of the Chief Minister HemantSoren, a continuous thrust is being given to the process of linking the farmers of the state with the Kisan Credit Card (KCC). The fruition of the efforts made by the government is being reflected in the number of KCC holders that on 15th September, 2022 stand at a figure of 19,18,511. An additional 5,34,331 new KCCs have got approval after September of 2021. KCC has proven to be a blessing for the farmers of the state by providing them loans at a simplified rate.

It has established itself as a boon for the farmers, who are not only getting loans that aid their agrarian practices but which also liberate them from the clutches of the moneylenders. Tremendous improvement has been witnessed in the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture loan segment due to the efforts made by the present government. A testimony of this is the sanction of more than Rs900 crores worth of loans by the present government, whereas only Rs 409 crore was disbursed from the formation of the state till December 2019.

Under KCC, an amount of 420.74 crores in June 2021, 581.53 crores in August 2021, 685.16 crores in October 2021, 914.2 crores in December 2021 and 1313.36 crores in April 2022 has been approved by the bank. 17.76 lakh farmers in April 2022 and 19.50 lakh farmers in September 2022 were linked to KCC respectively . A target has been set to cover 22.50 lakh farmers with KCC by December 2022 as well as 25.50 lakh farmers are to be covered by March 2023.

The Kisan Credit Card loan is available to farmers at 7 percent interest rate, with a waiver of 3 percent of the interest by the Government of India, when the loan is repaid within the time limit. Keeping in mind the economic condition of the farmers of Jharkhand, the is also helping the farmers with an additional 3 percent interest. In this way, if the loan is returned by the farmer within the time limit, the farmer has to bear the burden of only 1 percent interest. So far, KCC of 8,96,108 farmers has been achieved under the campaign by organising camps at the Panchayat level.

Jharkhand: Government decides to appoint history,civics teachers at government schools in non-scheduled districts

The has decided to appoint HISTORY/civics teachers at government schools in non-scheduled districts after The Supreme Court gave green Light on the matter.

The personnel and the Administrative Reforms department issued a letter to the secretary of schooleducationand Literacy department communicating the same. Education secretary Rajesh Sharma said with this decision, around 650 teachers are likely to be appointed in non-scheduled districts (those not notified under 5th Schedule). He added, The education department is working towards making large-scale appointment ofteacher.

Statefarmerswill now be called Birsa Kisan, chief minister Hemant Soren made the announcement on Monday during the International Day of the Worlds Indigenous Peoples celebrations at Project Building in Ranchi. The programme saw the distribution of kisan credit cards (KCC) and rollout of the MukhyamantriPashudhan Yojanafor the current fiscal year. Similar programmes were held simultaneously across all the 24 districts to mark the day.

But much before the freedom struggle began, our forefathers were already struggling for the cause of our jal, jungle, jameen (land, forest and water). On the other hand, you (farmers) are the ones who feed us and hence, my government has decided to recognize you as Birsa Kisans to provide you with a distinct identity.

Adani Groups Godda thermal plant starts commercial ops

TheAdani Groups newly commissioned 2X800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Jharkhands Godda district has begun its commercial operations from June 26, the company said in a statement.
The reliability run rest, including the commercial operation tests of the new second unit, was completed on June 25 in presence of the officials of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and the Power Grid Corporation of Bangladesh, the statement added. The first unit of the plant began its commercial operations on April 6.

The Rs 25,000 crore unit will supply 1,496 MW power to the neighbouring country as part of its power purchase agreement (PPA) which it inked with the BPDB in November, 2017.

Jharkhand to extend tenure of panchayats: Alamgir Alam

The Jharkhand government is mulling to bring in a special ordinance to extend the tenure of the panchayat bodies in the state for another six months considering the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic which has prevented the election, state rural development cum parliamentary affairs ministerAlamgir Alamsaid.

Alam said, The panchayatpollsare overdue as we couldnt hold it in December last year because of the pandemic. In January this year, the gave a six-month extension to the panchayat bodies to keep them operational. But with the second wave of Covid-19, we cannot hold the election this time, too. As per the rules of the Panchayati Raj Act, there is no provision to provide another extension. Therefore, we are considering to provide another extension through a special ordinance.

Supreme court panel to assess road safety across Jharkhand

TheSupreme Courtcommittee on road safety has sent a team toJharkhandto assess and audit the compliance of its guidelines on road safety in the state.

The committee comprising members from theIndian Institute of Technology(IIT) Delhi and Delhi Integrated Multi-Transit System would visit Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad andBokaroand also conduct separate meetings with officials of different departments.

The committee members held introductory session with different departments on the first day. It appreciated implementation of helmet wearing in the state, said a state official.

CIL to invest Rs 35 crore for installation of 25 O2 Plantsin Dhanbad district.

Coal India Limited (CIL) is pumping Rs . 35 Crores into installation of 25 Oxygen generation Plants, across 22 hospitals, to revive increased supply of the lifesaving gas. Residents of Jharkhand will be benefitted as a subsidiary of Coal India in the State would supply oxygen to the patients from its two upcoming oxygen generation plants in Ranchi and Ramgarh.

Of the 25 plants, five are being installed at CILs own hospitals at an of Rs. 4.25 Crores covering 332 beds. Of these five, Central Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, will be putting up two plants at a total investment of Rs. 1.57 Crores — one at Central Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Ranchi with 700 litres per minute capacity supporting 70 beds. The other of 500 litres per minute capacity will be set up at Ramgarh Hospital catering to the oxygen needs of 50 beds.

These oxygen generation plants will be set up in CILs own hospitals and in district hospitals where four of CILs subsidiaries operate to support 3,328 beds.

While the combined oxygen generation capacity of 20 plants is a little above 12,700 litres /minute, four of the plants together generate 750 Cubic metres per hour. One is a refill plant.
