The result of the system is that at present no one migrates from Kudlum Panchayat under Karra Block of Khunti District and there is no Unemployment. Most of the villagers here are living a self-sufficient life so that the Panchayat of Khunti has been nominated for the Panchayat Award for Governance“>Good Governance under the National Panchayat Award given by the Government of India.

The Director said that the people of all castes, religions and communities live in Sonmer village. Here the temple, Sarna Sthal and Church house are located in the same premises. This is an example of unity in diversity. People of all communities had equal cooperation in the construction of Sonmer temple. The construction work of the temple has been done by donating labor by the Gram Sabha itself. Every day 15-20 villagers are engaged in the temple for law and order, its routine is decided by the Gram Sabha. Due to the construction of the temple, today unemployment in the village has completely gone away. Shop of worship material, tea snacks and toy shop in the temple premises, all this belongs to the residents of Sonmer village only. The entry of outsiders into the business here is strictly prohibited. The Pahan of the village is appointed by the Gram Sabha to conduct ritual in the temple and he is paid an honorarium of Rs.350 per day. Today the Gram Sabha is supreme here, she added.

JSPCB Survey: Pollution level on the rise in River Subarnarekha

The findings of a recent survey by the Adityapur-based regional office of Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) has revealed that Subarnarekha, the lifeline river of the state, is getting polluted in areas in and around Jamshedpur. The board has expressed concern over rising industrial effluents being dumped.The findings suggested a rise in pH value, dissolved Oxygen content and lead content.

Subarnarekha is one of the principal rivers of Jamshedpur. Subarnarekha is the smallest of the inter-state river basins of India. The river covers a drainage area of 1.93 million hectares. Raru, Kharkai, Sankh, Garra, Kanchi and Karkari are some of the tributaries of Subarnarekha which drain the region of Jamshedpur.

Subarnarekha is a rain-fed river that originates about 15 kilometers from the southern part of Ranchi. Before entering the Bay of Bengal, Subarnarekha flows through the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. The total length of Subarnarekha is estimated to be about 450 kilometers.

Jkhand gets 200MW solar power from Guj

Jharkhandhas started receiving solar power from Gujarat through the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) as part of the Renewable (Energy) Purchase Obligation (RPO).
The 200MW solar power received from PGCIL will ensure an uninterrupted power supply in areas under the Jharkhand Urja SancharanNigam LImited(JUSNL).

Notably, the state discom Jharkhand Bidyut Viratan Nigam Limited (JBVL) had signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for 25 years with the Corporation of India(SECI) in July 2018 for 700MW of solar power. The solar power is purchased at Rs 2.5 per unit fromSECIs solar Plants in Gujarat.

Currently, the state is experiencing a power crisis in the DVC command area over the past several months over outstanding bills. The solar power receive will, however, be not supplied to the DVC command area.

The Prime Minister said the museum will demonstrate the contribution of tribal heroes and heroines in the freedom struggle and will become a living establishment of the tribal culture.

Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar on the birth anniversary of 19th-century freedom fighter and tribal leader Birsa Munda on November 15, 2000.

Enrollment begins in 80 schools of excellence for new session

Enrollment process has started in the 80 schools of excellence inaugurated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Children will be able to enroll in class I, VI and IX. The date for submission of application for this is fixed from May 2 to May 15. The date of test for enrollment is fixed on May 19. While the first merit list will be published on May 22. The date for taking enrollment of the children included in the merit list has been made from 23 May to 08 June 2023.

Enrollment can be done in class 9 in excellent schools running from class 9 to 12 and in class 6 in schools running from class 6 to 12. The application form will be free of cost. Children taking enrollment in the above class will be given Education in NCERT syllabus through CBSE medium.

Children will be able to enroll in Kindergarten and Class 01 of the schools. Such children will be eligible for enrollment in Bal Vatika, who have completed 5 years of age from 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2023. While in class 01, such children will be able to enroll, who have completed 06 years of age from 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2023. Online application form for enrollment will have to be submitted along with necessary documents on the admission link of the official website portal of State Project Office, Jharkhand Education Project Council or District Education Officer in offline mode by obtaining enrollment application form from District Education Officer Office/Excellence School of the concerned district.

Four categories of schools have been included in 80 schools of excellence. On the lines of district school, there are 25 centres of excellence, one girls secondary plus two school at district headquarters, 24, one KGBV at district headquarters, 24 and one model school of division, 7. The current level of operation of these 80 excellence schools is different. Under this, the number of schools from class 1 to 12 is 04, the number of schools from class 09 to 12 is 27, the number of schools from class 06 to 12 is 48, and the number of schools from class 01 to 08 is 01.

Jharkhand plans solar power in 200 villages by 2023

With Giridih gearing up to become the state’s first solar city, theJharkhandgovernment has set an ambitious target of equipping 1,000 villages with solar lights across the state under Jharkhand State Solar Policy 2022 of which 200 villages will be solarised in the first phase by 2023.
Chief minister Hemant Soren’s office in a communique said the move will boost to rural economy, improve the quality and reliability of solar power, enhance rural income generation, strengthen Education and Health Services and provide a host of EMPLOYMENT opportunities by integrating solar power into the rural economy.

As a first step, Giridih is being developed as a solar city. Here, a total of 17 MW capacity units are being set up for domestic consumers, 5 MW for commercial sector rooftop power Plants, 1 MW for solar street lights and 18 MW for ground-mounted solar power plants. In the first phase, the process of installing 5 MW rooftop panels for domestic consumers is on.”

BSL begins trial of AI-based predictive monitoring system

The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on Sunday begun trial of (AI) based predictivemonitoringsystem.BSL, a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), is on the verge of digital transformation for more transparency, productivity and efficiency in core steel production process.

BSL has collaborated with Hyderabad-based company M/S MINTO AI for enhancing predictive system. Under this trial, current based smart sensors have been installed at equipments such as cold screen motor of Sinter Plant, rotation motor for material distribution in blast furnace and crane main hoist motors at Hot Strip Mill, which work on the spidersense, an Industrial Internet on Things (IOT) platform of M/S MINTO AI.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the State has achieved many achievements in the direction of continuous development. In this sequence, on Saturday, the State was awarded a great honour by the Government of India. In the presence of President of the country Draupadi Murmu at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri honoured Jharkhand as the second topper of the country in the Swachh Sarvekshan 2022 among 100 urban bodies.

In Swachh Sarvekshan 2022, Jharkhand has been awarded the second topper award along with some other cities in various categories. Chaibasa has been awarded for Best Citizen Feedback in the Municipal Bodies of Eastern Zone having Population of 50000 to 100000. Bundu has been awarded for Best Citizen Feedback in the Municipal Bodies of Eastern Zone having population of 15,000 to 25,000.

Data shows only 23% of total population vaccinated in state

With increase in awareness, drop invaccinehesitancy and streamlining of vaccine supply, around 60% of the eligible Population in the state has received at least the first dose.
But despite the feat, the Percentage of vaccinated population is as low as 22.9.

According to the projections of the National Commission on Population (NCP),Jharkhandis estimated to have a population of 3.74 crore out of which those eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine (above the age of 18 years) is 2.47 crore which is 66% of the population. Out of the eligible category 60.2% people corresponding to 85,69,939 people have got at least their first dose (around 19 lakh among them getting both doses). Experts believe that since Vaccines for all age groups are not yet available, it was necessary to achieve a close to cent per cent vaccination target for effective protection against the virus.

Apart from regular supply, awareness among people has also helped the state pep up its drive in urban and rural areas.

Jharkhand millet farmers face challenges during the production and sale of the crop

A survey on millet cultivation in three districts of Jharkhands Santhal Pargana region revealed the challenges faced by marginal farmers during the production and sale of the crop.

The survey was conducted by an NGO, SwitchOn Foundation, in association with Empowering Energy-Water-Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture nexus (a Network of NGOs) among 488 farmers in three districts of Dumka, Pakur and Sahibganj in Santhal Pargana region between September 2022 and March 2023.

It assumes significance with the government of India proposing to the United Nations for declaring 2023 as the International Year of to create domestic and global demand and to provide nutritional food to the people. The United Nations General Assembly in 2021 declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets.

Nearly half of the farmers interviewed were observed to be earning between Rs 1,000 and Rs 3,000 as their monthly income from agricultural activities which puts them in the category of low economic groups, the survey points out.
