Governor Ramesh Bais on Wednesday called for rural transformation through the use of technology. He said that there is a need to promote the use of advanced technologies to boost Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture in the villages.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating a two-day national interdisciplinary conference, organised under the joint aegis of Karim City College’s Department of Commerce and on Agriculture and Rural Development and their Share and Stake in Economic Growth.

In his thought provoking address, Bais looked closely at many aspects of agriculture and rural development and reminded that there was a time when our villages were self-sufficient. Today the situation is such that milk and vegetables are also coming from the city into the village. The dependence of the village on the city is fatal for the rural economy. We have to pay attention to this as soon as possible. Modern methods of farming have to be taken to the villages. We have to increase productivity and take agricultural products to bigger markets, said Bais.

Meanwhile, another Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) and Ramakrishna Mission TB Sanatorium, Tupudana, Ranchi for ‘Installation of Ultrasound Color Doppler system in Ramakrishna Mission TB Sanatorium, Tupudana, Ranchi’ under CSR was organized on Tuesday at CMPDIL.

An MoA was signed between Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDIL) and Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET):Center for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS), Ranchi on Tuesday for Providing Skill development Training in the field of Machine Operator to 80 underprivileged/unemployed/underemployed youth from Jharkhand state through CIPET: CSTS under CSR of CMPDIL(HQ), Ranchi. CMPDIL has approved Rs. 68 Lakhs for the skill development program.

Skill development programs enable the youth to upgrade their skills and gain industrial exposure and expertise resulting in securing jobs in the Plastic engineering sector.

For building public consensus on the initiative of just transitions across party lines including all key stakeholders, Centre for Environment and Energy Development (CEED) organised a dialogue on Wednesday that was aimed to prepare the State for future ready pathways in the wake of resource depletion along with ensuring livelihood and economic security in the region.

The State of Jharkhand is also heading in this direction as the dominant development paradigm based on fsil fuels has led to economic loss and environment degradation impacting the subsistence livelihood of millions of the people. Since all over the world key Resources“>Natural Resources, like coal are depleting fast, the potential implications on social Equity and distributional benefits particularly in mining rich states like Jharkhand is very high and, hence, solicits for a transition that must be just and fair.

The Department of Commerce and , Government of India and Department of Industries, Government of Jharkhand, in collaboration with DGFT and Shellac & Forest Products EPC (Chefexil), organized a two-day commerce festival starting on Tuesday. The two day event aims at providing a platform to the industry players of Jharkhand to interact with policy makers and leading entrepreneurs under one roof.

Jitendra Kumar Singh, Director Industries, Government of Jharkhand, in his welcome note discussed the strength of Jharkhand, its rich Flora and Fauna, major producer of Minerals, iron and coal, availability of skilled workers, attractive sector specific policies. Along with the industrial parks located in the state, he also highlighted the key provisions for export oriented units in the Jharkhand Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy 2021.

Singh said that today natural products have their own importance in life. In this respect, Jharkhand is a rich state as 40 per cent of the mineral wealth of the entire country is available in this State. Addressing the young entrepreneurs, he said that the state is rich in mineral wealth but there is a need to do value addition in it. The state is fortunate that raw material is at the doorstep, so there is immense potential for production. We have a skilled labour force so we can move towards export. He said that Jharkhand can become an export basket.

The MoU with KMCO, a Jamshedpur-based charitable trust founded in memory of Kudy Mahanty in the year 2000, was signed by Sourav Roy, Chief, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tata Steel and Ms Smita Agarwal, Head (Education) on behalf of Tata Steel and Mr Niroop Mohanty, President, KMCO and Ms Rupa Mahanty, Chairperson, KMCO on behalf the Trust, in the presence of Ruchi Narendran.

The one-year PARTNERSHIP with KMCO aims to undertake various developmental projects for underprivileged children residing in urban slums of the city. As a part of the partnership, KMCO will undertake the provision of tablets to schools under Masti Ki Pathshala. This programme, operated by Tata Steel Foundation, enables a Learning bridge between schools and children from slums of Jamshedpur through residential and non-residential schools, with the sole purpose of making the city a child-labour free zone. The MoU is intended to equip these centres digitally to ensure smooth and continuous learning practices for the students.

Chief ministerHemant Soren rolled out panchayat-level medicine shop scheme by providing licences to 21 youths to set up generic drugs store. The move aims to ensure easy availability of medicines at grassroots level and boost EMPLOYMENT.

He said, Medicine shops stocked with essential medicines will be opened in every village so that the villagers do not have to go to their respective blocks and districts for medicines.

The country will be strong only when the state is strong and the state will be strong only when the rural economy becomes strong. Hence, our schemes keep the rural economy at the centre. The government is working in the interest of villagers, especially farmers and labourers, by making them self-reliant, increasing their income, providing them with better Education amenities, employment, and self-employment opportunities.

The districts will have to prepare a detailed report on the number of hospitals providing pediatrics facilities, whether they have separate Covid wards or not and whether the hospitals have dedicated Pediatrics Intensive Care Units (PICUs).

The State will also vaccinate truck drivers, helpers and labourers engaged in transportation of goods between India and Bangladesh via road on a priority basis following a directive from the Ministry of External Affairs.

It was a showcase of patriotism and culture as Jharkhand in Kenya (JHIK) was inaugurated during a colourful celebration at Navnat Bhavan, Nairobi on 15^thApril, 2023.

Jharkhand is a State in eastern India, which was carved out of the southern part of Bihar on 15th November, 2000 to become the countrys 28th state. Its capital is Ranchi. Jharkhand is known for its rich mineral Resources, dense forests and diverse tribal culture.

It has a diverse urban Population and a representation of mini-India within one state as people from all parts of the country have settled there and call it their Home, making Jharkhand the melting pot of Indian traditional and tribal culture. This fusion is unique to the state.

Chief ministerHemantSoren wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to assign doctors and paramedics, who are working in the military and central paramilitary forces deployed inJharkhand, for Covid management in the state.

A large number of central paramilitary forces like CRPF and SSB have been deployed in Jharkhand to tackle extremism and several doctors and paramedics work in these forces. There are two military hospitals in Ranchi and Ramgarh.
