Haryana Govt schools to have print-rich environment in classrooms

Teachers in government primary schools of the state will compete and develop a print-rich Environment in their respective classrooms under the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy programme in Haryana.

The programme aims to help the students improve their literacy skills. The teachers, in association with students, will have to compete on cluster, block, district and state levels. As per the schedule issued by the Directorate of School Education, the programme started on April 1 at school level and will conclude next month with the state-level competition.

At the district level, 25 per cent of the received Videos will be nominated for the state-level competition where the best classrooms will be selected for the state-level Awards. The videos will be shared on Social Media to attract children.

Haryana Government to take Rs 523 cr loan from SIDBI

CM Manohar Lal Khattar said the government had decided to take a loan of Rs 523 crore from the Small Industries of India (SIDBI) for cluster Infrastructure development.

This loan will be taken for 2021-22, which will be available at low interest rate. This loan can be used for the Programme to Accelerate Development for MSME Advancement (PADMA) scheme and other cluster development schemes of the government.

In 2 years, 308 units penalised Rs40 cr for groundwater misuse

After the intervention of the (NGT), the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has imposed a fine of around Rs 40 crore on 308 industrial units, including stone crushers and, for illegal groundwater extraction in the past two years.

In Charkhi Dadri, as many as 278 stone crushers have been fined Rs 31.67 crore but none has paid it so far. A stone crusher at Kheri Battar has been fined Rs 1.23 crore, while another in the same area has been penalised Rs 1.05 crore.

The compensation has been calculated as per a notification of the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), dated September 28, 2020, which was brought in compliance with the directions given in the NGT order in Shailesh Singhs case on July 20, 2020.

In a bid to promote adventure sports and allied tourism activities in a big way to make Haryana one of the most sought-after destinations, the Manohar Lal Khattar Government has constituted Milkha Singh Adventure Sports Club named after the countrys ace sprinter.

The legendary athlete had passed away on June 18, this year after a month-long fight with Covid-19.

The club has been established under the existing Haryana Academy of Adventure Sports (a registered Society) with an aim to introduce, promote and develop adventure sports in the State along with creation of training facilities for adventure sports and to develop quality .

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had in June announced to constitute a club to promote adventure sports and name it after Flying Sikh Milkha Singh.

It will undertake setting up of adventure sports training centres, academies, satellite centres, base camps etc and coordinate with such institutions in the country and abroad and also, explore collaboration with National Adventure Club (India), India Mountaineering Foundation among other such organisations.

Apart from this, the club will also provide bursaries or fellowships to assist individuals in pursuing advance training for excellence in adventure sports and encourage the private sector to contribute financially to the development of such facilities. It will also undertake a certificate course in adventure sports coaching, lifeguard in water sports, sports management to general EMPLOYMENT opportunities, according to the notification.

Notably, the Chief Minister had in the month of September launched adventure sports such as parasailing, paramotor and jet scooter at Tikkar Taal, Morni Hills in Panchkula district under State Governments ambitious plan on development of adventure sports activities to promote tourism in Haryana.

The State Government is now exploring the possibility of starting water sports activities in Brahma Sarovar, Karnal lake, Damdama lake, Tiliyar lake among other water bodies.

The Manohar Lal Khattar Government in Haryana has proposed major amendments in the Indian Forest Act, 1927 making forest offences cognizable and non-bailable and giving more powers to forest officers.

The draft Indian Forest (Haryana Amendment) Act, 2021 released by the also proposed enhancement in the amount of fine and term of imprisonment under various sections in a bid to make it more stringent to deter people from committing forest offences.

Providing more powers to the forest officers for removal of encroachment from forest land in the state, the draft proposes new sub-section under Section 66 which states, Any forest officer, not below the rank of the divisional forest officer, if he has reason to believe that encroachment of the State Government forest land has been made, may evict the encroachment and may use all the powers conferred on an executive magistrate under the Haryana Public Premises and Land (Eviction and Rent Recovery) Act, 1972.

Canada will cooperate with Haryana in field of food and energy security

The Canadian province of Saskatchewan has offered to enhance cooperation with Haryana in the field of food and Energy Security. Under this, a six-member Canadian delegation led by Premier Scott Moe met Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and discussed issues of mutual cooperation in various fields.

The delegation also included former Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister apprised the delegation of the geographical conditions of Haryana. He expressed hope that the visit of the delegation to Haryana would be a good experience. Haryana is an agrarian state and ranks first in India in per capita income and GST collection. More than 400 Fortune companies of the world are doing business in Gurugram. Haryana ranks second in India after Bengaluru in IT and Software, he said.

Khattar also shared the experience of his visit to Canada in 2016 with the delegation and said that skilled and unskilled manpower is available in Haryana and cooperation can also be increased in logistic .

Sirsa district gets award for anti-drug drive

Sirsa has been adjudged as the best performing district on roll out of the joint action plan for the prevention of drugs and substance abuse among children and illicit trafficking during July to December 2021.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and the Control Bureau (NCB) had jointly launched the action plan to prevent the drugs and substance abuse in February 2021.

The panel and the bureau selected 262 districts under the action plan to wean away children from drug abuse and stop selling of Intoxicants in surrounding areas of schools/educational and child care institutions.

The NCPCR and the NCB selected 20 best performing districts, including Sirsa of Haryana out of 262 districts, on the basis of indicators of the joint action plan.

7 dists lag in Super 100 prog selections

Seven districts ofHaryana, including six NCR districts, are yet to show up in terms of registration of meritorious children for the Super 100 programme. The selection process for the programme would be conducted by the Education department.

According to information, till January 31, 29,732 students, studying in medical and non-medical courses, had enrolled for the competitive examinations to be conducted in two phases.

There has been a substantial increase, almost double the number, in enrollment for the programme. However, Panipat, Rohtak, Palwal, Faridabad, Jhajjar, Mahendragarh and Yamunanagar are yet to reach the 1,000 mark as expected by the education department.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced to set up a Divyang Sports Corner in one stadium in every district.

While giving a gift to the Divyangjans on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Chief Minister also announced the construction of a new building of Government Blind School, Panipat and to provide Braille printers to blind officers.

He also laid the foundation stone of Divyang Care Home in Ambala through video conferencing and launched the website of Department of Social and Empowerment and portal to apply online for Divyang Award especially developed for Persons with Disabilities.

The Chief Minister said that persons with disabilities are also blessed with one or the other special qualities and talent. The example of this was highlighted when Sports persons with Disabilities won medals in Paralympic Games. Despite being visually impaired, Surdas was called a great poet. Similarly, Louis Braille, despite being blind, created the Braille script, Helen Keller left an indelible mark even when she was deaf and blind, he said

Khattar said that for the care of the mentally challenged, a Divyang Care Home would be constructed in Ambala on 5 acres of land at a cost of Rs. 31.71 crore. In this home, adequate arrangement for clothes, food and proper care for 100 persons with disabilities would be ensured.

Haryana to set up district-wise helipad facilities to tackle emergency like situations

Haryana is all set to become the first state in the country to set up district-wise helipad facilities to tackle war and emergency-like situations,Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala said on Saturday.

Chairing a meeting with the officials of the Civil Aviation Department,Chautala said that the possibility of setting up a helipad in the district Police lines should be worked out for ensuring a safe landing facility. With the development of this type of , helicopter landings can be done in war and emergency-like situations.

Besides this, setting up of helipads in the police lines, all arrangements will also be made for the security of these helipads. The information system of the police is very strong, so these helipads can be accurately used in case of any emergency, said the Deputy Chief Minister.
