Haryana to get 270 new PM-Shri schools by next year

Under the Pradhan Mantri School for Rising India (PM-Shri) scheme, launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 270 PM-Shri schools will be opened in 135 blocks Haryana by the next year. Stating this, the states School Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar on Sunday said that the zero drop out policy is being worked out in the State to connect every child with the mainstream through education.

There will be no dropout in the State by next year. For this, about 48 lakh children in the age group of six to 18 years are being tracked to know the status of their education, he added.

The Minister informed that the new National Education Policy will be implemented in Haryana by 2025.

The National Education Policy has been prepared to impart education among children by imbibing values in them. Which was targeted to be implemented across the country by 2030 but Haryana is moving forward with the vision to implement it by 2025.

Camera traps to be set up in Aravalis for wildlife census

The Haryanawildlifedepartment will install more than 100 camera traps across the Aravalis in May and June to carry out acensusof wildlife in the ecologically fragile area.

This is part of the upcoming wildlifesurveyto be conducted jointly by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) and the state wildlife department.

The survey is actually divided into two phases. The first phase will be carried out via a mobile phone application to count the number of monkeys in the state, while the second phase involves a census of wildlife in the Aravalis, officials said, adding that an awareness generation campaign will also be the focus of this survey to mitigate human-animal conflicts.

They capture images by detecting body heat or movement of any animal. These cameras are designed in a camouflaged way to protect them fromanimalsand humans.
The camera-trap survey method will be used to conduct a census of the wildlife in the Aravalis.

Categorisation at village level will pave way for better water management

Taking initiative towards state Governments water conservation objective, Haryana Resources“>Water Resources (Conservation, Regulation and Management) Authority (HWRA) has categorized the State into seven different zones based on depth to groundwater table as of June 2020 taking village as the unit of assessment which means this categorization is at the micro-level as compared to earlier categorization which used to be done taking block as assessment unit.

This village-wise categorization is initially for the purpose of management and micro-level planning of water resources and for making policies and taking remedial actions for water resources in the State.

As per the directions given by the Chief Minister to divide the state into different zones according to the situation of the groundwater level in the village, so as to overcome the water shortage as well as to manage the groundwater, several schemes will be formulated at the village level to increase the water level. Villages having less water levels would be given priority in all the water conservation schemes.

Haryana CMManohar Lal Khattar flayed the concept of free electricity supply like sops in the state.

Khattar conveyed this during the 83rd meeting of the Forum of Regulators, organised by theHaryana Electricity Regulatory Commission.

He said that with the objective of providing 24-hour electricity to the villages, the initiated Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon Yojana fromKurukshetrain 2016, adding that today, 5,680 villages in the state; about 80 percent villages are getting 24-hour power supply.

The CM said that in order to strengthen the power sector, the state government provided relief to the consumers by waiving off the overcharge. Not only this, defaulted consumers were given an option to pay the principal amount of their electricity bills in installments and the interest and surcharge of crores of rupees was also waived off.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala launched a scheme under which FMCG products will be provided at reasonable prices through ration depot-holders.

This pilot project has been launched at Sirsa, Fatehabad, Karnal, Yamunanagar and Panchkula districts. If the trial of this pilot project becomes successful in these districts, it will be implemented across the state.

The main objective of the is to create an ecosystem within Haryana through CONFED, in which multinational FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) companies, self-help groups and other groups work amicably.

HAU to set up millet research centre in Bhiwani village

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture University (HAU) has decided to set up a nutro- research station at Gokalpura village in Bhiwani district.

Haryana Agriculture Minister Jai Prakash Dalal has laid the foundation stone of the project, which will be built on 63 acres at Gokalpura village.

The minister said this centre would prove to be a boon for farmers of rain-fed areas as it would develop advanced technology of Rain-fed Crops such as millet. He said to ensure Food Security, the focus has been on high productivity and usable crops such as wheat and paddy.

NDRI to set benchmark for milk cells across India

After the success in setting standard limits of somatic cell counts (SCC) in the milk of indigenous cattle and Murrah buffalo of the National Research Institute (NDRI) farm, the scientists of NDRI, here, have started work on developing a set of reference values of SCC of all dairy breeds of the country.

The Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, has sanctioned project Generation of milk somatic cell reference values and intelligent predictive modelling for monitoring mammary profile and milk quality of indigenous dairy animals.

Scientists will screen high and low-producing dairy animals from various parts of the country to set desirable milk SCC levels in the indigenous breeds. They will also set a computer-stimulated predictive model to identify the risk factors associated with higher somatic cells.

Soon, IIT-Delhi centre to come up in Jhajjar, Haryana government gives nod

The approved the proposal to set up an extension campus of IIT-Delhi in Jhajjar,where 50 acres has been earmarked for researchers and students to focus on medical technologies and scientific breakthroughs in healthcare.

Conceived in 2013 but marred by delays, the extended campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Delhi) will be built in Badhsa village. It is expected to take at least three to five years for facilities to open in a staggered manner.

The state government aims to make the campus the first in India to focus on precision medicine and a place for experts to develop bioengineering solutions in healthcare.

Haryana Government has decided to prepare a rejuvenation and riverfront development plan for Ghaggar river focusing on aspects including flood mitigation measures, environment protection and commercial development.

The decision to prepare a comprehensive riverfront development plan for Ghaggar river has been taken after the directions from Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to study, identify and integrate catchments of river Ghaggar in Panchkula to suggest flood mitigation and Environment protection. Ghaggar originates from Dagshai village in Himachals Solan district and flows through Haryana, Punjab, and then ends in Rajasthan. The river and its tributaries Markanda and Tangri pass from Kalka, Panchkula, Ambala, among other places in Haryana.

The river swells every year during monsoon and many drowning mishaps have been reported over the past years in the State.

Under the commercial development component, the government is keen to explore feasibility of or boating within the river to encourage tourism, development of urban forest, nature park, landscaping along the banks of river and development of gardens, ponds, etc. for recreation purposes.

For flood mitigation measures for river Ghaggar, collection of various hydraulic parameters like rainfall, runoff, discharge, and preparation and study of hydrological model is proposed.

Apart from this, Options like increasing holding capacity and carrying capacity of river by further deepening of riverbed, creation or development of cascades or holding ponds within Ghaggar river, identification of suitable location and construction methodology for surface or underground holding ponds in the vicinity of river, identification of suitable location and construction methodology for weir or barrages with gates will also be explored.

On the basis of Swachh Survekshan Grameen-2022, ODF sustainability for total sanitation, and excellent implementation of various components of ODF plus, Haryana secured the second position in the country under the category of states having a population of more than 30 lakhs.
