Sportspersons from the state held a demonstration seeking 3% job quota in all departments instead of only three sports, police and education. As a symbol of peace, they were holding roses in their hands.

The protesters said the Haryana Government had limited the eligible Sports person (ESP) quota of 3% in Group-C recruitment to only three departments. In this context, a letter was issued on behalf of the Chief Secretary on November 24 last year. As per the letter, the recruitment will be done through the CET and there will be no post in Group-C of sports quota. To eliminate the sports quota indirectly, it was limited only to three departments. They demanded that the 3% quota should be implemented in all departments.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday said that the Haryana Government has taken the state on a progressive path by promoting its Antyodaya spirit during its tenure of 2500 days.

Pointing out that the has launched many schemes for the welfare of every section of the Society, he said that every person in the state should be fully motivated to avail benefits from these schemes so that a prosperous Atmosphere prevails.

Khattar said about 70 lakh families were provided free food grains till November, 2020 under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana and the sentiment of the people is positive towards the government. He said the opposition parties are misleading the people and presenting the schemes of the government in the wrong way without any true facts whereas the present State Government has consistently been working to uplift the life of the people. Now the efforts of the state government have started showing results. Those with family income up to Rs 1.80 lakh annually would get the benefits of the schemes run by the State Government on priority basis.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Monday said that the State Government has prepared a scheme of ‘Investment Subsidy in lieu of Net SGST’ in order to attract more investors in the state.

Under this, projects from MSMEs will be given subsidy. With the establishment of more industries, EMPLOYMENT opportunities will be directly enhanced for more youth of the state, Dushyant said.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Industries and Commerce Department, said that the ‘Haryana Enterprises and Employment Policy, 2020’ has been formulated by the with the main objective to make the state a major Investment-destination and to facilitate balance between regional and Sustainable Development through an energy efficient Governance system.

He further said that in cases where ‘Net SGST’ under cash ledger is less than 5 percent of Fci in a year, a subsidy of up to 5 percent of FCI will be given in equal annual installments for a period of 8 years. In this also, there will be an annual limit of maximum Rs. 5 crore for a mega project, he said.

Soon, 60 waterbodies to fortify Aravali Green Wall, 15 in city

TheHaryanagovernment will develop 60 lakes and ponds in the Aravalis of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Nuh and Rewari as part of the Union Environment ministrys Green Wall initiative to revive the ancient hills.

Launched in March this year, the project is inspired by Africa countries’ Great Green Wall initiative and aims to restore green cover on the hills that stand as the only barrier blocking the expansion of desert-like conditions from Thar to northwest India, including Delhi-NCR.
The goal is to restore around 1.15 million hectares (MHA) of the forests across four states by 2027. For this, the central government has set up project units in every Aravali district.

A 2022 report by the IndianSpaceResearch Organisation (Isro) had found that around 8.2% of Haryanas total area or 3.6 lakh hectares had degraded to become more arid over the years. Experts said this was largely the impact of illegal mining and deforestation in the Aravalis.

Electrification of railways in Hry to be 100%

Haryana successfully completed the electrification work of railways in the state being carried out by the central and state governments. Lauding this achievement of Haryana, Prime MinisterNarendra Modisaid electrification of railways would create more opportunities towards development of Haryana.

Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, in his tweet, disclosed the 100% completion of RAILWAY electrification work in Haryana.

Waste-to-wonder park to come up in Karnal city

The Karnal (KMC) plans to develop a waste-to-wonder park with an aim to making people aware of the reuse of waste. A corner of Karna Park in the city has been earmarked for this project, where various sculptures made from recycled waste will be put up.

This step is being initiated keeping in mind the Swachh Survekshan-2023 as the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has allocated marks for Waste Management. The survey will give priority to the principle of 3Rs reduce, recycle and reuse.

Haryana to create databank of drug peddlers

Haryana will soon have a databank of drug peddlers as the state Control Bureau (NCB) has started the process to prepare it with the help of Software HAWK. It would only be used by Police authorities, said an official.

The names of drug peddlers with their photographs, mobile numbers, details of their bank accounts, social accounts, vehicles, relatives and property would be just a click away.

Besides, there will be a map with details of the source of the drugs and the route of the delivery. The phone call details of the accused would also be available on it.

Soon after the arrest of the accused, the district police will upload the photograph, video and other details of the accused with the help of the software designed by the NCB. The district police have to fill a detailed interrogation form designed by the NCB, especially for this purpose.

Haryana to launch 5-year vehicle scrappage policy

Haryanais all set to introduce a five-year vehicle scrappage policy formulated in sync with the Centres Voluntary Vehicle Fleet Modernization Programme to encourage the scrapping of the vehicles that have attained the critical age of 10 years in case of diesel and 15 years in case of petrol vehicles.

The policy draft was approved in the state cabinet meeting held on Thursday and would be tabled during the three-day winter session of the state assembly starting from December 26. Once approved by the House, it would come into force after notification.

The state policy will be applicable to all end-of-life vehicles, Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs), registering authorities and departments who are supposed to issue a no objection certificate (NOC) for the registration of RVSFs.
Under this policy, vehicles which have completed the critical age of 10 years in the case of diesel and 15 years in the case of petrol shall be scrapped.

An incentive-based system will be introduced to facilitate the phasing out of unfit vehicles. Dis-incentives will be utilised to make use of old unfit vehicles, a costly affair. Monetary benefit will be given to the buyers of motor vehicles to encourage them to scrap their vehicles, said an official of the .
