Chhattisgarh to procure pulses on support price

The Chhattisgarh Cabinet decided to procure pulses arhar, uradh and moong at minimum support price from Kharif season 2022-23, Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey announced.

He said to promote the Growth of pulses, the cabinet decided to procure arhar (pigeon pea), udah (black gram) and moong (green gram) at minimum support price.

The target of paddy of 110 lakh tonnes will continue. The target of pulses has been kept as 50,000 tonnes.

He accepted that there has been a decrease in the area of pulse production, which needed to be boosted. So, a decision has been taken for government procurement. It will help to increase the income of farmers.

The Minister said there were several complaints that outsiders (domiciles of other states) were getting domicile certificates. To rationalize it, an amendment was being made.

He said for Kharif Marketing year 2021-22, a decision was taken to give incentive to rice millers.

The cabinet decided that the 50 percent amount will be paid with custom milling fee and remaining 50 percent will be paid on depositing the rice to Central Pool as per the target on time.

In just three months of fiscal 2021-22, Chhattisgarh has fulfilled almost half of the year’s employment target under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA).

Against an EMPLOYMENT target of 13.50 crore person-days approved by the Central government this year, 6.65 crore person-days of employment has been met in April, May as well as June. This is 49.27 percent of the target for the whole year.

In 21 districts, employment has exceeded the target for April to June.

Against a target of 6.21 crores person-days fixed for the first quarter, employment of six 6.65 crores has been created in the entire state. This is about 107 percent of the target.Chhattisgarh ranks sixth in the country in terms of completion of work against the target approved under MNREGA.

Despite the adverse circumstances due to Covid-19 crisis, people in rural areas have been provided continuous employment in the state.

In the first trimester of the current financial year, around 39,34,242 labourers have got employment and 50 percent of them are Women.

In the first quarter of 2021-22, maximum employment of 71.01 lakh person-days has been provided in Rajnandgaon district.

Suraji Gaon transforming rural Cgarh

The Suraji Gaon Yojana has brought an unprecedented change and awareness in rural areas of Chhattisgarh, significantly improving the social and economic status of Women.

Women from self-help groups have got acquainted with new areas of self-EMPLOYMENT. They are equipped with information about various welfare schemes of the government.

Anupa Sahu from a Gauthan in Dhiri village in Rajnandgaon development block said that joining Gauthan proved to be a turning point in her life.

She said that livelihood activities such as vermicompost manufacturing, green-vegetable production and fish farming happen in Gauthan.

Vermicompost, greens vegetables and locally manufactured household products are supplied to nearby Anganwadi centers.

She said there are 10 members in her Jai Maa Angarmoti Women Self Help Group who are collectively working towards financial Empowerment.

Many members of this group have bought smart phones with their earnings. Rural women have become adept in running all types of applications including Phone Pay, Google Pay and WhatsApp.

The women in the group earned Rs 2.50 lakh from the sale of vermicompost.

To scale up the war on Covid-19, the 104 Helpline number is being strengthened as an One Stop Solution to the pandemic in Chhattisgarh, Dr Subash Mishra, Director, of the Epidemic Control.

At present, the 104 Helpline is in service for the Covid patients in the state. The number of toll-free lines is being increased.

The Helpline will also provide information regarding Home isolation, availability of beds in hospital, ambulance details and treatment protocol.

Cgarh for action plan to meet Health for All

Chhattisgarh’s Health and Family Welfare Department met on Wednesday to strengthen health Services and ensure Health for All through government hospitals.

Its Secretary Prasanna R organized a meeting of national and international partner organizations and NGOs to discuss in detail how to strengthen the health services in the state.

Prasanna underlined the need to work on the theme Health for All. The institutions should provide quality services to the people, he said.

He told the representatives of various organizations that any deficiency in providing health services to the people at the ground level should be intimated to the department.

This can help eliminate the shortcomings and improve the health facilities.

He called for reducing the infant mortality and maternal mortality rates.

The organizations highlighted their contributions in the diagnosis of cancer, maternal health, child health, TB, filaria, elderly health, medical Oxygen services support and non-communicable diseases as well as health services.

Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Tuesday held interactions with representatives of different industrial institutions seeking their cooperation in supporting different sports in the state.

The players require motivation and cooperation for their performance. The Industries can play a role under funds meant to be used as corporate responsibility, Jain said.

The Sports in Chhattisgarh can prosper if both the government and industries work together, he added.

Citing a survey of women and child development, the state government claimed that the rate of child malnutrition has reduced to 19.86% from 30.13% in Chhattisgarh. InChhattisgarh, nearly 1.70 lakh children have become free from malnutrition with the successful implementation of MukhyamantriSuposhan Abhiyaan(Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign) which started on October 2, 2019, said officials.

As per officials of Women and child development, Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyaan proved to be successful in reducing Malnutrition rate in Chhattisgarh. According to the data of the “Vajan Tyohar” (weight festival) organized by theDepartment of Women and Child Developmentin the state from 2016 to 2022, the rate of malnutrition has dropped down continuously.
Women and child development department takes the weight of all the children in a particular period and determines the nutritional level during weight festival. In July 2021, weight of about 22 lakh children was taken by the department within 10 days and nutritional assessment was done. The has ensured that the data of the weight festival is verified by external agencies as well. Quoting the National Health Survey-5, state officials said that the rate of malnutrition has reduced in Chhattisgarh. The national Average for malnutrition is 32.1 per cent, while that in Chhattisgarh is 31.3 per cent. Thus malnutrition in Chhattisgarh is less than the national average. Besides, according to theNational Family HealthSurvey-4 year 2015-16, the rate of malnutrition in Chhattisgarh was 37.7 %, while the national average rate at that time was 35.8 %.

According to the survey report of NFHS-5, the rate of malnutrition in the state of Chhattisgarh has come down by 6.4 per cent and this rate has dipped to just 31.3 per cent now. The report of National Family Health had said that efforts made by the Chhattisgarh Government to reduce malnutrition have shown positive results, said states health officials.

Cgarh disburses subsidy to electric vehicle owners

Chhattisgarh’s Transport on Saturday disbursed a subsidy of Rs 1.55 crore to 888 people who bought electric vehicles.

Transport Minister Mohammed Akbar said the government is taking the initiative to promote electric vehicles. Under the Electric Vehicle Policy, any person purchasing an electric vehicle can get a subsidy from the government.

The seller has to give his account number and IFSC code. Ten percent of the value of the vehicle, subject to a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh, will be directly transferred by the Transport Department to the account of the buyer, he said.

The Chhattisgarh Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department stall here is drawing huge crowds, with a favourite with visitors being a live working model of the Single Village Scheme (SVS) under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

The model displayed a water supply scheme for households in rural areas.

In addition, running water supply system in schools, Anganwadi centers, sub-Health centers and Gauthan (cowsheds) have also been displayed through working models.

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a target has been set to supply pure drinking water through taps to houses of 39 lakh rural families by 2023 in rural areas.

A provision of Rs 850 crores has been made for the scheme in 2021-22.
