The government on Wednesday decided to make Chhattisgarh a hub for film shooting and encourage producers to shoot in the state.

This decisionin was taken at a cabinet meeting held at the residence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

The cabinet also decided to provide grants to national award winning films shot in Chhattisgarh.

As grant of maximum of Rs 1 crore would be given to award winners in any of the categories: best film, best director, best actor, best actress and for promoting national integration or carrying a social message.

A Task Force formed to conserve Chhattisgarhi art, culture, archaeology and tourism on Wednesday decided to form working groups.

In a meeting held at Yojana Bhawan, its Chairperson Vinod Verma, who is also advisor to the Chief Minister, said a report will be prepared after consulting experts and the recommendations will be presented to the .

He stressed the need to form a work plan for various programmes prescribed by the Chhattisgarh Sanskriti Parishad, Adivasi Lok Kala Academy and Lalit Kala Academy.

The Culture Expert at the Indian Institute of Science, Bitasa Das, underlined the need to patronize folk artists.

Dr Kalyan Chakraborty, a former Chairman of Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi, gave several suggestions on conserving the fine arts in Chhattisgarh.

The Forest and Climate Change Department in Chhattisgarh has set a target to plant and distribute three crore saplings in 2023.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests V. Srinivasa Rao said the plantation will be done under different schemes and on river banks.

A total of 59.76 lakh fruit-bearing Plants including mango, jamun, vine, jackfruit, munga, custard apple, papaya, pomegranate, lemon, mulberry, almond, ber, tendu, Ganga tamarind and litchi are to be planted, Rao said.

There will also be forest produce and medicinal plants totalling 67.49 lakh and 30.42 lakh bamboo saplings.

The plan is to cover 410 hectares at about 10 kilometres on the banks of Hasdeo, Gagar, Banki, Badhura, Banas, Jamad, Mahanadi, Shivnath and Kharoon rivers. This will help to prevent erosion, said Rao.

The drive will also cover both sides of state roads and outside the forest area in private and government lands like Anganwadi, Police outposts, gardens, hospitals, Gauthans, cremation grounds and government premises.

Clear policy required to deal with fly ash problem: FICCI

he Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and , Chhattisgarh has suggested that increasing punishments or punishing the power plant alone is not a solution but clear policy to fix responsibility of every stake holder is also necessary to solve the problem of fly ash menace.

In addition to the additional expenditures, it is very difficult for a thermal power plant to get permission to establish Ash Dyke from the state pollution control board. Instead of leaving power Plants alone, a clear and transparent policy is needed to ensure that all stakeholders make a contribution in disposing of the ash from power plants.

FICCI has suggested that before the new notification comes into force, a systematic solution to the problem can pave the way for Sustainable Development. In order to dispose of fly ash, the government must make a condition of using only ash and its products compulsorily in all the tenders of construction works and mandatory rules for transportation and disposal should be made, use of fly ash should be mandatory for end users.

Chhattisgarh power generation company ranked sixth in country in best power generation category

ChhattisgarhState Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) has secured the sixth position in the best power generation in the country. Central Electricity Authority, a central government undertaking, has given this ranking to CSPGCL for better performance in 33 state sectors of different states.

Besides, two Plants of Chhattisgarh have created the record of best production among 200 thermal power plants across the country.
The Central Electricity Authority has released the list for the 2022-23 financial year. According to which CSPGCL has been ranked sixth in State Sector with Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 71.19%.

The generation company produces electricity at a lower cost as compared to other thermal power plants in India. The PLF of two units of 250 MW of CSPGCLs Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Plant (DSPM) Korba East stood at 83.30%. It has got 19th ranking.

Addressing the people on the eve of Budget 2023-24’s presentation, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said it will be a Bharose ka budget.

The trust which has given the state the strength to become Nava Chhattisgarh has led to a working style and pro-people policies followed by the government, he said.

The Chief Minister will table the budget on March 6 in the assembly.

He said earlier the people used to identify Chhattisgarh for Naxalite violence. It affected tourists. People’s perspectives have changed. Now people across the country are eager to visit the state.

Bollywood actors are utilizing the state for shooting films and web series. All this has been possible with public participation, he said.

The other states are adopting the state’s Education and Health models.

States per capita income up by 11%

Chhattisgarhs per capita income has touched Rs 1,18401, registering an increase of 11.93 per cent during fiscal 2021-22.

According to the state economic survey report, released ahead ofCM Bhupesh Baghelpresenting the state budget for fiscal 2022-23 in the assembly, the per capita is calculated on the basis of gross state domestic product (GSDP) at market prices. Indias per capita income is Rs ,50,326 with a Growth of 16.69 per cent

Chhattisgarhi films to get govt subsidy

To encourage the local film , theChhattisgarhgovernment has announced a subsidy of Rs 1.65 crore on vernacularChhattisgarhifilms being made in the state up to Rs 5 crore and 25 % subsidy for films made in Hindi or other languages.

The notification of Chhattisgarh Film Policy 2021 by the State Government has been welcomed by local artists.

As per government officials, after the implementation of the new film policy, the art culture of Chhattisgarh will get a wider audience. With the new policy in place, local artists will get EMPLOYMENT and their income will increase as well. This will benefit the locals, including thousands of artists, technicians and producer-directors associated with the film industry.
Rs 50 lakh will be given on production of series. If the shooting of the film is more than 75 % for the web platform in Chhattisgarh, then it will be provided a subsidy of Rs 1 crore. Under the new policy, an assistance of Rs 25 lakh will be given by the government to the artists and technicians of the state in film production.

According to sources, the new film policy of Chhattisgarh has been made after studying the policy of five states: Telangana, Madhya Pradesh,Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Jharkhand.

Govts ambitious scheme for girls

The Mukhyamatri Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana is an ambitious scheme of the Chhattisgarh government in which Rs 20,000 is credited directly in the bank account of girls from workers’ families for self-EMPLOYMENT and higher Education.

This was stated on Wednesday by Sushil Sunny Agrawal, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

He distributed cheques under the scheme to select girls in Bhakt Mata Karma Ward (Ward 67) and Changorabhatha of Dr. Khoobchand Baghel Ward (Ward 68) and Bhatagaon.

He said the scheme aims to empower girls in the state. Seven girls were given a cheque of Rs 20,000 each.

So far 8,262 daughters of construction workers have benefited under the scheme. A total of Rs 16.52 crore has been transferred to the accounts of the girls, an official Communication said.
