The Chhattisgarh budget will advance the cause of justice, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday.

In his 17th episode of Lokvaani radio programme, Baghel emphasized the lessons learnt during the Covid-19 crisis.

Besides, a budget provision of Rs 150 crores has been made to improve nutritional security and economic condition of farmers in seven tribal-dominated districts and 14 development blocks of Mungeli district.

To benefit farmers with interest-free agricultural loans, the government has set the biggest goal so far in the HISTORY of Chhattisgarh — to disburse loan of Rs 5,900 crores.

Baghel said the objective of the Naveen Nyaya Yojana is to ensure regular income to the landless laborers and to support the rural agricultural landless laborers.

Since the inception of the Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana in 2019, the scheme has helped 94,828 people to overcome nutritional deficiency while 4,412 children have been freed from malnutrition in Chhattisgarhs Dantewada district.

The scheme is being implemented in the tribal-dominated district to increase children’s and Women‘s Nutrition levels and make them healthy.

The primary goal of the scheme is to lower the rate of Malnutrition and anemia in the district.

The scheme benefits normal and malnourished children aged 1 to 3 years, lactating mothers, children aged 3 to 6 years and pregnant mothers through Anganwadi centers.

Baghel on accelerating eco growth with SDGs

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday held a discussion with experts from the Netherlands and the US on possibilities of accelerating economic Growth with the achievement of the Goals.

Vikas Mehta (US), CEO SED Fund, Dr. Kartikeya Singh (Netherlands), Deputy Director, SED Fund, and Ritvika Bhattacharya, CEO, Swaniti Initiative, called on the Chief Minister here.

The advisor to the Chief Minister and Vice Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Green Council, Pradeep Sharma, was also present.

The discussion revolved around the prospects of establishing new industries on the lines of Sustainable Development Goals. This would help eliminate the ill effects of Climate-change”>Climate Change.

The Chief Minister briefed about the steps undertaken to strengthen the rural economy in Chhattisgarh. He pointed out that Godhan Nyay Yojana had been instrumental in converting cow dung into vermi-compost and other products.

The conversion of Gauthans as Rural Industrial Parks was aimed at protecting the Environment.

He added that electricity generation and paint making was also being started from cow dung. All these activities have opened new opportunities of EMPLOYMENT and income to the villagers, especially Women.

Tobacco grips 39% people in Cgarh

Despite steps to curb tobacco consumption and de-addiction centres, about eight percent of children in the 13-15 age group are under the influence of tobacco in Chhattisgarh.

A total 39.1 percent of the state’s Population uses tobacco, said Dr Kamlesh Jain, the state nodal officer, National Tobacco Control Programme.

Jain said the Centre has issued guidelines for tobacco-free educational institutions. These guidelines are to be compulsorily implemented.

The research found that 34.3 percent of pregnant Women who used tobacco had more complications. Along with this, problems like miscarriage have also been observed in 1.6 percent of pregnant women.

Cgarh to launch new mvt Tablet Se Pahle Toilet

Prioritizing toilet over tablet to the school students, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to develop a toilet each at schools of Gram Panchayat in villages and at ward level in across the state.

Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain at a meeting of the state-level monitoring-cum-implementation committee for Samagra Shiksha and MidDay Meal on Tuesday made this announcement.

The meeting was held at Mahanadi Bhavan in Nava Raipur.

The Chief Secretary instructed that toilets to be constructed under the movement Tablet Se Pahle Toilet should be of good quality. Proper arrangements of running water and Drainage System should be made.

Maintaining regular cleanliness and arranging their maintenance should be done.

The arrangements had to be made prior to the start of the new academic session 2022-23, he said.

The meeting also approved annual work-plan worth Rs 3456.98 crore under Samagra Shiksha and Rs 696.18 crore under Mid Day Meal for the academic year 2022-23.

Skill India launches third phase of Rural Entrepreneur Programme

To promote the economic and of tribal Women and bring tribal communities to the forefront, the Ministry of Skill development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has launched the third phase of the Rural Entrepreneur Project to train 500 tribal youth. The aim of the project is to provide multi-skilling to 300 and 200 tribal women through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Migration for livelihood is a major problem in all tribal areas of India due to constraints in access to Resources and skills, thus under this initiative, people will be empowered and skilled in their own geographical areas. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has earlier emphasised on the participation of tribal communities in the workforce, making them self-reliant in their habitations to ensure their overall development.

The Rural Entrepreneurs Project focuses on providing EMPLOYMENT opportunities in both local and rural economies. The project is being implemented in six states Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gujarat. The concept has been given shape by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), SDE and tribal MPs.

Chhattisgarh fights iodine deficiency

Chhattisgarh is going to observe a Global Iodine Deficiency Disorders Control Week from October 21 to 27.

During this period, various awareness campaigns will be held in all healthcare institutions on preventing iodine deficiency.

The campaigns will provide information related to the usefulness of iodized salt and the importance of iodine in all age groups.

Detailed guidelines have been issued by the Health Department to all the Chief Health and Medical Officers and the District Programme Managers of the National Health Mission in this regard.

In Chhattisgarh, 22 districts suffer from iodine deficiency. Mitanins use the salt testing kit to know the level of iodine in the edible salt used in households.

Based on the results, families will be informed about proper intake of iodized salt and Iodine deficiency.

CM to launch scheme for medicines on rebate

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will launch a Shree Dhanwantri Medicine Scheme on October 20 to provide 50 percent or more rebate on the maximum retail price of medicines.

There will be a total of 188 medical stores in 169 cities and towns across the state. On the inauguration day, 85 shops will open. The rest will be operational by the end of October.

In the next phase of the scheme, Home delivery of medicines will commence, an official Communication said on Thursday.

These shops have been allocated by civic bodies on rent at Rs 2 per square feet based on the decision of the .

There will be 251 kinds of medicines, 27 surgical items and quality herbal products manufactured by the Minor Forest Produce Association available in the shops.

Apart from it, generic medicines of reputed companies of the country will be sold.

Already in urban area, the Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme, City Diagnostic Centre, Dai Didi Clinic and other health schemes are operational.
