APSSDC to set up 23 skill colleges at Rs 460 crore

The Andhra Pradesh State Skill development Institute has trained more than 6,544 people under its new -ready programme and employed them in various industries.

TheAndhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation(APSSDC) in a press release here on Sunday said it is going to establish 23skill collegesat an estimated cost of Rs 460 crores.

Skill training centresare being developed on an area of five acres in each Parliamentary constituency at an estimated cost of about Rs 20 crores. Built on an area of 45,520 square feet, skill colleges will be designed to house six classrooms, two labs, two workshops, a startup lab, admin and staff rooms. Hostels will also be built to accommodate 126 people.

needs of the area. The course duration ranges between three to six months depending on the sector.

‘Upper Bhadra project cleared as per tribunal’ in AP

As per the estimates, about Rs 33,000 crore will be spent on the creation of permanent Infrastructure in YSR Jagananna Colonies that includes roads, drains, water supply, electrification, underground Internet cabling, etc. The electrification works alone need about Rs 7,080 crore.

Andhra Pradesh told to pay Rs 5 crore for damage to mangroves

The , southern zone, has directed the AP government to pay an interim compensation of Rs.5 crore for the damage caused to themangrovesin the existing area covering an extent of nearly 18 acres.

The NGT said the quantum of compensation awarded is subject to further compensation to be assessed by the committee appointed by it. The amount should be paid to the APCZMA, which can utilise it for protecting the coastal Environment including protection, conservation and preservation of the existing MANGROVES in the coastal area, in the area in dispute, and other areas.
The amount will also be utilised for increasing the mangrove forest cover in the coastal zone so as to enhance resilience to disasters like Climate-change”>Climate Change, flood erosion and cyclonic effect.

AP has two mangrove forests – in Godavari and Krishna estuaries.The Coringa mangrove sanctuary in the estuary of the Godavari is the second biggest mangrove forest in India after the Sundarbans.

Andhra Pradesh govt to develop portal for sale of movie tickets

The plans to sellmovie ticketsonline soon.
An online portal is in the final stages of development through which the government wants to make tickets available for filmgoers.

The government has already constituted a high-level committee to execute the task of developing the portal and linking all theatres in the state to the portal.

The state government earlier issued orders fixing movie ticket prices across the state for non-AC and AC theatres and multiplex screens.
The intervention was to avoid indiscriminate hike

by the theatres during the release of big banner films.

The Centre on Tuesday made it clear that there will not be any increase in the number of seats to legislative assemblies ofAndhra Pradeshand Telangana till 2026. This in other words means that the next elections to the state assemblies of Telangana (2023) and Andhra Pradesh (2024) will be held as per the existing number of seats.
