UN records the highest number of grave violations against children in conflicts

Children experienced the highest number of grave violations in conflicts verified by the United Nations in 2022, with the conflicts between Israeli and Palestinians and in Congo and Somalia putting the most youngsters in peril, the UN childrens agency said.

UNICEF also expressed particular concern about their plight in Haiti, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Ukraine, where Russia has been put on the UN blacklist.

India, France review strategic, defence ties

India and France on Thursday reviewed the entire spectrum of their strategic and DEFENCE ties during talks here between National Security Advisor(NSA)Ajit Doval and Emmanuel Bonne, Diplomatic advisor to the French President. The visiting dignitary also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi before returning to Paris.

Doval and Bonne also reportedly prepared the groundwork for Prime Minister Narendra Modis visit to Paris on July 13-14. He is the guest of honour for national day of France this year. Both the countries this year are celebrating 25 years of their strategic PARTNERSHIP. Besides focussing on their bilateral ties, Doval and Bonne also reportedly discussed the aftereffect of the ongoing Ukraine conflict and situation in the Indo-Pacific in the backdrop of China adopting an aggressive stance in the region. India and France share long defence ties and the latter is now keen to impart technology for the jet engine for the twin-engine combat fighter jet planned by the Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO).

Indias first Autonomous Navigation facility : TiHAN

TiHAN stands for Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous . It is a multidisciplinary initiative, that has been launched to make India a global player in smart mobility technology for futuristic and next generation. This platform will provide for high quality research facility between Industry, academia and R&D labs at local and global levels.

TiHAN testbed seeks to make India a global leader in terms of autonomous navigation technologies. TiHAN-IITH testbed on Autonomous Navigations (Aerial & Terrestrial) will help in accurate testing of next generation autonomous navigation technologies. The testbed comprises of simulation platforms, which is turn permit for non-destructive testing of algorithms and prototypes.

TiHAN was inaugurated at the campus of IIT Hyderabad.

Union Ministry of Science and Technology has developed the navigation facility with an outlay of Rs. 130 crores.

Animal Health Summit 2022

The Animal Health Summit was held to understand the significance of health of animals in broader objective of Indias rural incomes & prosperity, food & Nutrition security, and overall .

The summit was organised by Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture (ICFA) in collaboration with the Agriculture Today Group.

Union Minister ofFisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Parshottam Rupala,attended the event as chief guest and inaugurated the summit.

It is a two-day event and hosted many panel discussions on topics including:

Animal Health policy initiatives

Business Environment in Animal Health sector

Investment opportunities in Animal Health sector.

While inaugurating the summit, Union Minister noted that, we need to strengthen the cooperative movement in Livestock sector. He asked to use Ayurveda to ensure better animal health. He further asked for suggestions from citizens regarding initiatives, that can be implemented to recognise the work of veterinarians in India.

Indian economy- an exclusive part of global development: Experts

The recent conference of economy experts discussed the different views about Indian economy. They said that, in terms of GDP by Purchase Power Parity (PPP), India holds 3rd rank with $8.9 trillion. To reduce absolute POVERTY, the Government of India launched various schemes at the mass level and during the period 2011-15, and as a result,90 million people were lifted out of extreme poverty.

India’s domestic economy has acted as Oxygen for the rapidly weakening global economy due to the covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war. India in UNESCO panel on Intangible Cultural Heritage

In past, India has been a member of ICH Committee for two times viz., during 2006-2010 and 2014-2018.

Amid the ongoing celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, India has been elected for two prominent Committees of UNESCO namely,

Intangible Cultural Heritage (for 2022-2026) and

World Heritage (for 2021-2025).

Membership to ICH Committee will provide India an opportunity to restore the values of Vasudeva Kutumbakam.

Mithali Raj Became the Highest Run-Getter

India captain Mithali Raj grew to become the highest run-getter in womens cricket across formats, overtaking former England skipper Charlotte Edwards.

Indian Army Inducts Bridging System by DRDO

The Army inducted the first manufacturing lot of 12 Short Span Bridging System (SSBS)-10m, designed and developed through the DEFENCE Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in affiliation with Larsen & Toubro Limited, the manufacturing agency. The SSBS-10m plays an indispensable position of bridging the gaps up to 9.5m as a single span sup plying a 4m wide, entirely decked roadway, ensuring quicker motion of the troops.

The bridging system is compatible with the Sarvatra bridging machine (75 m), the place the closing span required covering gaps less than 9.5 m.

The DRDO has developed a vary of bridges for the Army that have already been inducted.

Bamboo Oasis on Lands in Drought – BOLD

The Bamboo Oasis on Lands in Drought (BOLD) project is launched.

About Project BOLD:

It is a KVIC project that was launched with the goals of reducing as well as providing livelihood and multi-disciplinary rural Industry support.

It was first introduced in the tribal village of Nichla Mandwa in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Over 25 bighas (16 acres) of vacant arid Gram Panchayat land, 5000 saplings of special bamboo species Bambusa Tulda and Bambusa Polymorpha brought from Assam were planted.

Project BOLD aims to establish bamboo-based green patches in arid and semi-arid areas.

By August of this year, KVIC plans to replicate the project in Village Dholera in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district and the Leh-Ladakh region.
