Parliament Friendship Association – India And Srilanka

Minister Chamal Rajapaksa has been elected president of the “Parliamentary Friendship Association” between India and Sri Lanka.

Highlights:

After resolving to buy fertilizer from India on November 11, 2021, Sri Lanka founded the India-Sri Lanka Parliamentary Friendship Group.

To boost bilateral relations, the recommended forming a Parliamentary Friendship Group with friendly nations.

It is being resurrected for the upcoming Parliament, which will be elected in August 2020.

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris spoke at the resurrection ceremony about the “strong civilizational links” between India and Sri Lanka.

He stated that Buddhism was India’s greatest gift to Sri Lanka.

This PARTNERSHIP will aid in “revitalizing” parliamentary exchanges and bolstering bilateral connections between the two countries.

Climate Change Performance Index

The German watch released the “https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate Change Performance Index 2022″ in PARTNERSHIP with Climate Action Network (CAN) and New Climate Institute.

On the sidelines of COP26, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, a report was released (UNFCCC).

According to the CCPI 2022, major emitting economies that announced their Net Zero-emission ambitions performed poorly in terms of climate change performance in 2021.

India remained ranked 10th in the index. India has maintained its position as one of the G20‘s top performers.

The CCPI is an impartial monitoring tool that has taken the lead in delivering information on the Paris Agreement’s implementation phase.

Since 2005, it has analyzed the performance of countries in terms of climate protection.
The index assesses 60 countries and the European Union, which account for around 90% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

It divides countries into four categories, each with 14 indicators.

HP Government Aims to Formulate Green Hydrogen Policy

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has informed that aGreen Hydrogen policywould be formulated to promote the use of green hydrogen and establish the state as a leading hub for its production. Resources, including ample sunlight, water, and wind, make the state an ideal location for generating green hydrogen. The primary objective of the Green Hydrogen Policy is to attract investments in large-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring a consistent and sustainable supply of green electricity for electrolysis.

The chief minister stated that the government is actively encouraging young entrepreneurs to invest in the state and the new green energy policy will include various provisions to facilitate their participation.

By giving leverage to the natural advantages, the state aims to create a favorable Environment for the production of green hydrogen.

Mumbai Ranks Sixth In Annual Housing Price Growth Among 46 Cities Globally

Mumbaihas moved up to the sixth rank among 46 global cities in terms of annual price Growth of high-end residential properties, with an appreciation of 5.5%, according to a report by real estate consultantKnight Frank India.

The report, titled Prime Global Cities Index Q1 2023, notes that Bengaluru and New Delhi have also registered an increase in Average annual prices in the first quarter of 2023.

ThePrime Global Cities Indexis a valuation-based index tracking the movement of prime residential prices across 46 cities worldwide, tracking nominal prices in local currency.Dubaiclinched the top position globally in terms of the increase of 44.2% in prime residential properties values.

Farmers Producers Organisation (FPO): 1100 FPOs have been allocated to National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)

The formation and promotion ofFarmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)has gained significant attention in recent years, as it holds immense potential to transform the agricultural landscape. FPOs are essentially collective entities formed by farmers, enabling them to join forces, pool Resources, and enhance their bargaining power. Under the central scheme titled Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs, the government has allocated 1,100 FPOs to theNational Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)to bolster the cooperative sector and provide comprehensive support to small farmers.

FPOs serve as a platform for farmers to come together, share knowledge and experiences, and collectively address common challenges. These organizations offer end-to-end Services that encompass various aspects of cultivation, including inputs, technical support, processing, and Marketing. By leveraging economies of scale, FPOs help small producers access better prices, reduce transaction costs, and enhance overall productivity.

Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to open first overseas office in Abu Dhabi

TheAsian Investment Bank (AIIB)has recently signed an agreement to create its first Interim Operational Hub inAbu Dhabi Global Market, marking its initial foray into establishing an overseas office. AIIB is a multilateral Development Bank that focuses on financing infrastructure projects that prioritize sustainability. As the host country for COP28 later this year, theUAEhas emphasized the importance of Climate finance, a key concern for nations as they strive to increase their efforts and commitments towards climate action.

The AIIB has established its first Interim Operational Hub in Abu Dhabi Global Market, which will serve as its initial overseas office.

The office will have a strategic location in theMiddle East and the world, and will support the Banks development agenda by financing infrastructure projects that prioritize sustainable economic Growth, particularly in areas where it is most needed.

Agristack Project

The Department has commenced the work for creating Agristack in the country. In order to create Agristack, the department has finalized the core concept of India Digital Ecosystem of Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture (IDEA) which lays down a framework for Agristack. For this, a Task Force was constituted and in furtherance, a concept paper on IDEA was prepared and comments were invited from subject experts, farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and general public.

Agristack is a federated structure and ownership of data is with the States only.

Access to federated Farmers Database is with Government only. No private company is involved in developing the federated Farmers database. As of now, the federated database is being built by taking the publicly available data as existing in the Department and in various data silos in Government.

Gokul Grams under Rashtriya Gokul Mission

The Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, under Rashtriya Gokul Mission has released funds for setting up of 16 Gokul Grams with the aim of conservation and development of indigenous bovine breeds in a scientific and holistic manner.

Setting up of Biogas Plant was also included as one of the component under Gokul Grams and their performance evaluation has not been carried out. They have not been connected with the Gobardhan Yojana as the said scheme was not in place during the inception of Gokul Gram component under RGM.

Due to implementation of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission and other measures taken by Government of India milk production in the country has increased from 146.31Million Tonnes in 2014-15 to 220.78 Million in 2021-22 that is by 6.3% per annum during the last 8 years. Value of output of milk is more than Rs.9.32 lakh crore during 2021-22 which is the highest on all Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture products and is even more than the combined value of Paddy and Wheat. The scheme is the playing an important role in enhancing milk production and productivity of bovines to meet the growing demand of milk and making dairying more remunerative to the rural farmers of the country. The scheme is leading to multiplication of elite animals of indigenous breeds and increased availability of indigenous stock.

A Gender Toolkit based on Enabling gender responsive urban mobility and public spaces was launched by Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner a session conducted by the and the Chennai Urban Metropolitan Transport Authority.

The World Banks toolkit aims at bringing under spotlight the gender issues surrounding mobility and city design. Cities are experienced differently by men, Women and gender minorities and our toolkit provides tools to understand and address gender disaggregated mobility patterns, strengthen policies and develop Infrastructure to meet the needs of women and gender minorities, said Gerard Ollivier, lead transport specialist, India.

Cities are experienced differently by men, women and gender minorities and our toolkit provides tools to understand and address gender disaggregated mobility patterns, strengthen policies and develop infrastructure to meet the needs of women and gender minorities, said Gerard Ollivier, lead transport specialist, India.

The toolkit is a two-volume guide brought out by the World Bank that details a four-pillar implementation framework for urban bodies to design a gender responsive urban mobility and public spaces programme.

Assessing the ground situation is the first pillar and includes understanding gender differences in mobility patterns, safety concerns, gaps in policy and infrastructure.

India’s first National Yogasana Sports Championships

From November 11 to 13, 2021, the first Physical National Yogasana Championships in India will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The National Yogasana Sports Federation (NYSF) has partnered with the state of Odisha to host the National Yogasana Sports Championships 2021-22.

Approximately 560 young Yogasana Sports players from 30 states will compete in the tournament.

The goal of the event is to promote and build a global brand for it by portraying it as a competitive sport with high standards and benchmarks.
