Andhra Pradeshchief ministerYS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for theAmul Chittoor dairyin Andhra Pradesh.
Anand Milk Union Limited (Amul) will bring in an of Rs 385 crore to establish the country’s largest ice-cream manufacturing unit and other Dairy products manufacturing Plants in a phased manner.
Reddy promised to the people of Chittoor that the Chittoor dairy popularly known as Vijaya Dairy which was shut down 20 years ago would be revived once the YSRCP returns to power.
Keeping up the promise extended to the people of Chittoor, Jagan Reddy-led government inked a pact with Amul to revitalize and strengthen cooperative dairies and to benefit the Women dairy farmers in the state through a series of measures.
The State Government also launched the Jagananna Paala Velluva scheme through which the women dairy farmers are earning Rs 20 more per litre of milk procured.
The new dairy units will provide direct EMPLOYMENT to 5,000 individuals and more than 2 lakh people would be benefited through indirect employment.
