Ahead of theRabiseason, theChhattisgarhgovernment has given instructions to officials to keep a strict vigil on the distribution system of fertilizers and seeds and to ensure storage of seeds and fertilizers for rabi crops as per the demand in respective districts of the state.

During the meeting, it was informed that a target of sowing various crops in a 19.25 lakh hectare area has been kept for the current rabi season. Out of which 3.48 lakh hectare (18 per cent of the target) area has already been used for sowing various crops. Similarly, in Rabi year 2022-23, a target has been set to distribute 3,18,000 quintals of certified seeds, which contains 1,25,000 quintals of wheat, 96,900 quintals of a gram, 15,000 quintals of peas, 4450 quintals of mustard and 77,50 others seeds of crops.
