The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has directed Naduto immediately act on complaints pertaining to the promotion policy on filling vacancies in the revenue department.
The department in September issued a circular saying deputy tahsildar panels, prepared between 2004 and 2018, would re-drawn as The Supreme Court direction aimed at filling vacant Other Backward Caste (OBC) posts. But while doing so, the revenue department de-reserved the posts assigned to SC officials and thrown them open for general category candidates and those from other communities, saidS Karrupiah ofDalit Freedom Movement, a not-for-profit organization fighting for the welfare of scheduled castes in TN.
