50K school students to be trained on CPR

The St John Ambulance India, Accountant General Ambulance Division, Odisha in association with Disaster Preparedness and Risk Management (DPRM) and Care Hospital, Bhubaneswar, jointly observed the “World Restart a Heart Day” on October 16 and 17 in the AG office premises here under guidance ofPrincipal Accountant General Ananta Kishore Behera.

Behera said that due to poor facility available in India, most of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) victims die before reaching the hospital.

To improve the chain ofsurvivals immediate recognisation of SCA and activation of emergency response system, early Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) followed by defibrillation and advance life support transportation should be activated outside of hospital to reduce cardiac arrest death. Learning CPR should be mandatory for school and college students of India said Principal AG (Audit-1) Raj Kumar.
