The Postal Assistant exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for recruitment to the post of Postal Assistant in the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. The exam is conducted in two tiers: Tier I and Tier II.

Tier I Exam

The Tier I exam is a Computer Based Exam (CBE) consisting of four sections:

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Tier II Exam

The Tier II exam is a Descriptive Paper (pen-and-paper based) consisting of one section:
