\n“Little Boy” was the codename for the atomic bomb dropped by the United States on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, during World War II. It was a gun-type fission weapon using uranium-235.

\nIt was the first nuclear weapon used in warfare. Three days later, on August 9, 1945, the second atomic bomb, “Fat Man” (a plutonium implosion-type bomb), was dropped on Nagasaki.

\nThe first nuclear test ever conducted was the “Trinity” test, which took place on July 16, 1945, in New Mexico, USA. It tested a plutonium implosion device similar to “Fat Man”.
