\nAccording to the Election Commission of India’s criteria for recognition as a National Party, one of the conditions is that the party must be recognized as a State Party in at least four States.

\nThe other criteria for recognition as a National Party are:
\n1. The party’s candidates must have secured at least 6% of the total valid votes polled in any four or more states in the last Lok Sabha election or assembly elections, AND the party must have won at least 4 seats in the Lok Sabha from any State(s). OR
