Shriman Narayan.<\/p>\n<p>Shriman Narayan was the first Governor of Gujarat. He was appointed on 1 May 1960, the day Gujarat was formed. He served as the Governor of Gujarat until 1962.<\/p>\n<p>Shriman Narayan was born on 10 November 1906 in Surat, Gujarat. He was educated at the Gujarat University and the London School of Economics. He joined the Indian National Congress in 1921 and participated in the Indian independence movement. He was a member of the Constituent Assembly of India and the Rajya Sabha.
