Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad.<\/p>\n<p>Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad was the third Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. He was appointed as the Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on 17 November 1953 by the Maharaja Hari Singh. He served as the Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir till 2 November 1964.<\/p>\n<p>Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad was born in 1907 in the village of Sopore in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. He was educated at the Government High School in Sopore and the Islamia College in Srinagar. He joined the Indian National Congress in 1931 and became a close associate of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.<\/p>\n<p>Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad was elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 1937. He became the Minister for Education in the Sheikh Abdullah-led government in 1947. He was one of the architects of the Instrument of Accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India.<\/p>\n<p>After the death of Sheikh Abdullah in 1953, Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad became the Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
