The revolt began on 10 May 1857 at Meerut, and spread to other parts of India, including Jagdishpur.<\/p>\n<p>Hukoo Singh and Munku Singh were two of the major leaders of the revolt in Jagdishpur. They were both Rajputs, and they led a group of rebels against the British. The rebels were successful in capturing Jagdishpur, and they held it for several months.
