He was a member of the Constituent Assembly of India and the Rajya Sabha. He was also the Governor of Gujarat from 1977 to 1980.<\/p>\n<p>Shri Karam Singh died on 20 January 1997 at the age of 78. He was a great leader and a true patriot.
