The Act also provided for the creation of a Legislative Assembly for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with a total of 90 seats. Of these, 20 seats were reserved for the people of PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) region. However, these seats have remained vacant since the formation of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in October 2019.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of reasons why these seats have remained vacant. One reason is that the Indian government has not been able to hold elections in PoK. Another reason is that the people of PoK have not been able to participate in the electoral process in Jammu and Kashmir. Finally, the Indian government has not been able to reach an agreement with Pakistan on the issue of PoK.<\/p>\n<p>The issue of the vacant seats in the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is a complex one. It is a matter of dispute between India and Pakistan. The Indian government has said that it will hold elections in PoK when the time is right. However, the people of PoK have been demanding that they be allowed to participate in the electoral process in Jammu and Kashmir.
