It is a food security scheme that provides free foodgrains to the poor and vulnerable sections of the population. The scheme was launched in 2013 and is being implemented by the state government of Bihar.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme provides 5 kg of rice per month to each eligible person. The beneficiaries of the scheme are identified by the state government on the basis of their socio-economic status.
