The award is a recognition of the outstanding work that these individuals have done to improve the lives of the people of Sikkim.<\/p>\n<p>The award was instituted in 2001 by the Government of Sikkim to honor the contributions of individuals from outside the state who have made significant contributions to the development of Sikkim. The award is given annually to a maximum of three individuals. The award consists of a cash prize, a citation, and a memento.<\/p>\n<p>The award is a prestigious recognition of the outstanding work that these individuals have done to improve the lives of the people of Sikkim.
