The state has a wheat productivity of 3,000 kg per hectare, which is higher than the national average of 2,700 kg per hectare.<\/p>\n<p>Maize is the third most important food crop of Chhattisgarh. It is grown in the southern and eastern parts of the state. The main maize-growing areas are Bastar, Surguja, Jashpur, and Raigarh. The state has a maize productivity of 2,000 kg per hectare, which is higher than the national average of 1,800 kg per hectare.<\/p>\n<p>Pulses are the fourth most important food crop of Chhattisgarh.
