It has been used by the Supreme Court of India to interpret the Constitution and to strike down laws that are found to be unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>The four fundamental objectives of the Indian state, as outlined in the Preamble, are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Justice: This includes social, economic, and political justice.<\/li>\n<li>Liberty: This includes freedom of thought, expression, belief, faith, and worship.<\/li>\n<li>Equality: This includes equality of status and of opportunity.<\/li>\n<li>Fraternity: This includes assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These objectives are the foundation of the Indian state and they guide the actions of the government.
