Iris Mittenaere.<\/p>\n<p>Iris Mittenaere, a 24-year-old dental student from France, was crowned Miss Universe 2016 on January 30, 2017, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. She is the third Miss France to win the title, after Denise Perrier in 1953 and Mareva Galanter in 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines was the reigning Miss Universe at the time of the pageant. She crowned Mittenaere as her successor at the end of the event.<\/p>\n<p>The other three finalists in the Miss Universe 2016 competition were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raquel Pelissier of Haiti<\/li>\n<li>Andrea Tova of Ecuador<\/li>\n<li>Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pelissier was the first runner-up, Tova was the second runner-up, and Nel-Peters was the third runner-up.<\/p>\n<p>The Miss Universe 2016 pageant was the 65th Miss Universe pageant. It was held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on January 30, 2017. The pageant was hosted by Steve Harvey and Pia Wurtzbach, the reigning Miss Universe.<\/p>\n<p>There were 86 contestants from all over the world who competed in the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.
