It is a love poem in the form of a messenger&#8217;s monologue, in which the Yaksha, a demigod of the clouds, is sent by his love, the Yakshi, to her lover, the king of Vidarbha, who is away on a hunting expedition. The Yaksha describes the journey of the clouds from the Vindhya mountains to the Himalayas, and the various sights and sounds that he encounters along the way.
