He then joined the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a Scientist in 1980.<\/p>\n<p>Sivan has held various positions at ISRO, including Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) and the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC). He was also the Director of the ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC).<\/p>\n<p>Sivan is a member of the Indian Space Commission and the National Security Advisory Board. He is also a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, India&#8217;s third-highest civilian award.<\/p>\n<p>A. M. G. K. Menon was the Chairman of ISRO from 1972 to 1984. He was a nuclear physicist and a pioneer in the development of India&#8217;s nuclear program.<\/p>\n<p>B. Roddam Narsimhan was the Chairman of ISRO from 1984 to 1991. He was a mechanical engineer and a specialist in rocket propulsion.<\/p>\n<p>C. U. R. Rao was the Chairman of ISRO from 1991 to 2003.
