Altruistic surrogacy is when a woman agrees to carry a child for another couple without any financial compensation. The Act also sets up a Surrogacy Regulation Authority to regulate surrogacy in India.<\/p>\n<p>The Act has been criticized by some for being too restrictive. They argue that the Act will make it difficult for infertile couples to have children through surrogacy.
