These include the need for food, water, shelter, clothing, and sleep. Without these needs being met, it is impossible to focus on higher-level needs such as safety, love, and belonging.<\/p>\n<p>Maslow&#8217;s hierarchy of needs is a theory of motivation which states that five categories of human needs dictate an individual&#8217;s behavior. The theory suggests that people are motivated to fulfill their needs in a specific order, starting with the most basic needs and moving up the pyramid as each need is met.
