All of above.<\/p>\n<p>Under the Citizenship Act of 1955, a person can acquire Indian citizenship by birth, descent, registration, or naturalization.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A person born in India on or after 26th January, 1950 is a citizen of India by birth.<\/li>\n<li>A person born outside India on or after 26th January, 1950 is a citizen of India by descent if his father or mother is a citizen of India at the time of his birth.<\/li>\n<li>A person who is not a citizen of India but who has been ordinarily resident in India for not less than five years immediately preceding the date of his application may be registered as a citizen of India if he satisfies the following conditions:\n<ul>\n<li>He is a person of good character;<\/li>\n<li>He has resided in India for not less than five years immediately preceding the date of his application;<\/li>\n<li>He intends to reside in India permanently;<\/li>\n<li>He has an adequate knowledge of Hindi or English;<\/li>\n<li>He has an adequate knowledge of the Constitution of India; and<\/li>\n<li>He has taken an oath or affirmation of allegiance to India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A person who is not a citizen of India but who has been ordinarily resident in India for not less than 11 years immediately preceding the date of his application may be naturalized as a citizen of India if he satisfies the following conditions:\n<ul>\n<li>He is a person of good character;<\/li>\n<li>He has resided in India for not less than 11 years immediately preceding the date of his application;<\/li>\n<li>He intends to reside in India permanently;<\/li>\n<li>He has an adequate knowledge of Hindi or English;<\/li>\n<li>He has an adequate knowledge of the Constitution of India; and<\/li>\n<li>He has taken an oath or affirmation of allegiance to India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the above, a person may also acquire Indian citizenship by incorporation of territory.
