Sodhi Ranjan Das was the first Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court. He was appointed on 1 November 1966 and served till 31 October 1970. He was born on 15 August 1908 in Lahore, Punjab, British India. He was educated at the Government College, Lahore and the University of Punjab. He was enrolled as an advocate in the Lahore High Court in 1931. He served as a judge of the Lahore High Court from 1947 to 1966. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 1966. He retired from the office of Chief Justice in 1970. He died on 15 August 1987.
