The present Governor of Gujarat is Acharya Devvrat. He was appointed to the position on 23 August 2016. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been a member of the Rajya Sabha since 2002. He is also the Chancellor of Gujarat University.
Acharya Devvrat was born on 15 January 1952 in the village of Devdi in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat. He is a graduate of Gujarat University and holds a master’s degree in political science. He also holds a doctorate in education from the University of Pune.
Acharya Devvrat started his career as a teacher in 1974. He joined the BJP in 1980 and has held various positions in the party. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2002 and has been re-elected twice. He is also the President of the Gujarat BJP.
Acharya Devvrat is a social worker and has been involved in various social activities. He is the founder of the Acharya Devvrat Shikshan Sanstha, which runs schools and colleges in Gujarat. Acharya Devvrat is a popular figure in Gujarat and is known for his work in the field of education and social welfare. He is a respected leader of the BJP and is considered to be a close confidante of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
