Which one of the following sections of the Cr. P.C. provides as to security for good behaviour from habitual offenders?

Section 110
Section 109
Section 108
None of the above

The correct answer is (a). Section 110 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 provides as to security for good behaviour from habitual offenders.

Section 110 of the Cr.P.C. states that when any person has been convicted of two or more offences punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than two years, and the court is satisfied that there is reason to believe that he is likely to commit another offence of the same kind, it may, instead of passing a sentence of imprisonment, direct that he shall execute a bond, with or without sureties, for his good behaviour for a specified period not exceeding three years.

The court may also direct that the person shall be placed under the supervision of a probation officer during the period of the bond.

If the person fails to comply with the conditions of the bond, he may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year.

Section 109 of the Cr.P.C. deals with the power of the police to arrest without warrant. Section 108 of the Cr.P.C. deals with the power of the police to search without warrant.

I hope this helps!
