The Haryana Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 does not provide for a General Committee. The Act provides for the following committees to be constituted by the Panchayat Samiti:
- Health and Welfare Committee: This committee shall be responsible for matters relating to health, family welfare, education, social welfare, women and child development, and nutrition.
- Finance, Audit and Planning Committee: This committee shall be responsible for matters relating to finance, audit, planning, and development.
- Social Justice Committee: This committee shall be responsible for matters relating to social justice, SC/ST welfare, and backward classes welfare.
- Panchayat Raj Samiti Standing Committee: This committee shall be responsible for matters relating to general administration, law and order, public works, and other matters not specifically assigned to any other committee.
The Panchayat Samiti may also constitute such other committees as it may deem necessary.
