Sheikh Abdullah was imprisoned in Hari Parbat Fort on 21st September, 1931.
Hari Parbat Fort is a 16th-century fort located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It was built by Sultan Sikandar Shah Miri in 1517. The fort is situated on a hillock overlooking the city of Srinagar. It is a popular tourist destination.
Sheikh Abdullah was a Kashmiri politician who is considered to be the “Father of Jammu and Kashmir”. He was the first Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. He was imprisoned several times during his lifetime, including on 21st September, 1931.
On that day, Sheikh Abdullah was arrested by the British government for his involvement in the Quit Kashmir Movement. He was imprisoned in Hari Parbat Fort for two years. During his imprisonment, he was tortured and ill-treated.
Sheikh Abdullah’s imprisonment was a turning point in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. It led to the rise of the Quit Kashmir Movement and the eventual independence of Jammu and Kashmir from British rule.
