Babur died in Agra, India in 1530. He was the founder of the Mughal Empire in India. He was born in Fergana, Uzbekistan in 1483. He was the son of Umar Shaikh Mirza, the ruler of Fergana, and Qutlugh Nigar Khanum, a princess of the Timurid dynasty. Babur was a skilled military commander and a poet.
