The United Nations declared 2003 as the International Year of –

The year 2003 was also designated as the European Disability Year by the European Parliament. The year was chosen to raise awareness of the needs of people with disabilities and to promote their full participation in society.

The year 2003 was not designated as the International Space Year. The last International Space Year was in 1992.
