This appointment is made based on the recommendations of a committee comprising the Prime Minister as the Chairperson, the Speaker of the House of the People, the Minister in-charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Leader of the Opposition in the House of the People, the Leader of the Opposition in the Council of States, and such other Member as may be nominated by the President.
