The renaming of three islands in the Andaman & Nicobar archipelago took place in December 2018.

The correct new names are: Ross Island is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep, Neil Island is Shaheed Dweep, and Havelock Island is Swaraj Dweep. The renaming was done to honor Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s visit to the islands in 1943.
