‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’ focuses on:

Universal elementary education
Adult literacy
Higher education
Vocational training

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is a flagship programme of the Government of India with the objective of universal elementary education (UEE) in India. It was launched in 2001 with the goal of providing free and compulsory education to all children in the age group of 6-14 years.

The SSA focuses on the following key areas:

  • Universal access to elementary education
  • Universal retention in elementary education
  • Quality improvement in elementary education
  • Bridging the gender and social gaps in elementary education
  • Functional literacy and continuing education for adults

The SSA has been successful in achieving many of its goals. The number of out-of-school children has reduced significantly, and the quality of education has improved. However, there are still some challenges that need to be addressed, such as the need to improve the infrastructure of schools and the need to provide more training to teachers.

The other options are incorrect because they do not focus on elementary education. Adult literacy focuses on providing education to adults who have never been to school or who have dropped out of school. Higher education focuses on providing education to students who have completed their secondary education. Vocational training focuses on providing training to students in specific skills that they can use to get a job.
