Pakistan’s Prime Minister was changed due to a Supreme Court instruction.
In June 2012, the Supreme Court of Pakistan disqualified Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani from holding office after he was convicted of contempt of court for refusing to reopen a corruption case against the President. Following this ruling, Gilani ceased to be the Prime Minister. This led to the appointment of a new Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf.
