A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is known as the “Missile Man of India” for his role in developing India’s missile program. He was the chief architect of India’s nuclear weapons program and served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.

Vikram Sarabhai was a physicist and the founder of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He is considered the father of the Indian space program.

Homi J. Bhabha was a nuclear physicist and the founder of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR). He is considered the father of the Indian nuclear program.

Satish Dhawan was an aerospace engineer and the second chairman of ISRO. He is considered the father of the Indian space program.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India. He was the son of a boat owner and had eight siblings. He received his early education in Rameswaram and then went on to study physics at the University of Madras. After graduating from university, he worked as a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). In 1962, he joined the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and played a key role in the development of India’s first satellite, Aryabhata. He was also instrumental in the development of India’s missile program.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was a visionary leader who played a key role in the development of India’s scientific and technological capabilities. He was a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. He died on July 27, 2015, at the age of 83.
