Cachar was a kingdom located in the present-day Indian state of Assam. It was ruled by the Chutiya dynasty. In the early 18th century, King Pamheiba, the founder of the Manipuri kingdom of Meitei, invaded Cachar and defeated the Chutiya king. This victory allowed Pamheiba to expand his kingdom and consolidate his power.
