As of current information, the 12 battalions of NDRF are strategically located in various states for quick response. The locations include Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (two battalions), Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is not one of the states hosting a primary NDRF battalion headquarters.
