MSF is an independent, non-governmental organization providing medical humanitarian assistance globally.
Founded in France in 1971, MSF operates based on the principles of medical ethics and the principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence. It does not accept funding from parties to conflicts and primarily relies on private donations. It was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
